Mushi

Director Masaki has been living as a shut-in for ten years, idling away his parents’ inheritance. His college friend Ikeuchi, worried about Masaki’s extreme aversion to human contact, tries to shake him up by taking him to a small theatre performance. But Masaki does nothing but drink heavily at an izakaya and deliver scathing critiques. Everything changes, however, when actress Fuyo, one of the performers, appears. Deeply moved by Fuyo’s eagerness to listen to his theories on acting, Masaki feels a surge of creative passion and begins writing a script with her as the lead. Yet his misguided feelings gradually twist into madness, giving rise to a warped love story that no one could have foreseen.
